Did you know that………In 2008 there were 1,233 million journeys on Britain’s Railways,
Did you know that………the 1,233 journeys were taken on the 20,000 passenger trains that are operated every working day.
Did you know that………The UK has approximately 40,000 bridges and tunnels and there are 2,516 stations on the National Rail Network?
Did you also know that………The UK has only one manufacturer of cable products capable of supporting the full range of cables used in the Rail Industry – They are
B3 CABLE SOLUTIONS.
Globally there are huge investments being made in rail infrastructure projects at present, and many key people hold the opinion that rail is about to see the same 'boom' the airline industry did 15 years ago. New investments will help the National rail operators gain a stronger presence within the transport industry in general and optimise efficiency within the Rail Sector specifically.
It is for this very reason that Manchester based B3 Cable Solutions is focusing on the railways sector for their products and responding to specific requests for unique Rail Cabling.
“B3 has selected railways as a priority market segment and we are currently combining our development, marketing and production resources around the world to meet the changing demands of the railway industry which now operates on an increasingly global scale” comments B3’s
Managing Director, Steve Ellis
B3 has made a significant investment in the Rail industry, with strategically located inventories to service the UK and European rail market, these are key to enabling on-time delivery of key projects. B3 has also developed a wide range of tried and tested value added support services and has underpinned this with an increased range of inventory which now includes signalling cables to NR/PS/SIG 00005 and power cables to BS5467, again making B3 Cable Solutions the only choice for approved products and quality service.
B3 have also developed a range of cables for trackside telephony systems, axle counting safety systems, signalling and control. Using their in-house laboratories, B3 Cable have helped customers across the globe optimise their systems by developing specifications to deliver fault-free communications, whilst meeting all budget considerations.
B3 Cable has delivered over 500kms of Axle Counter cables, pre-qualified to meet the exacting standards of London Underground’s Section 12 requirements. Thales has installed the majority of this product on their prestigious Jubilee and Northern Line Upgrade project for Transport for London. They have been so impressed with B3’s high production standards that they have cut down the time spent on their
source inspection regimes.
B3 offers a complete individually tailored solution for underground and overground rail applications and is working with most major rail contractors on Rail specific cabling projects.
B3 pulls out all the stops to keep engineering works on track
B3 has built an enviable reputation for exceptional service and this was once again proved over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Atkins had requested delivery of cable ahead of schedule unfortunately this was still at B3’s factory in Santander, Spain and not due to be delivered for another 4 weeks. B3 Cable then arranged for the factory to be opened and cable collected at 04.30am of the Spanish public holiday to enable Atkins to achieve its deadline for installation prior to the Bank Holiday Monday.
